There are lots of promising YA novels hitting the shelves in 2013, whether they are author debuts or exciting continuations of a series. Every Monday, I'll post a new book I can't wait to get my hands on after December ends, and the meme is called Future YA Books on Mondays. To kick off the tradition, our book today is...
Requiem by Lauren Oliver!

Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.
After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancĂ©e of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.
Requiem is the third explosive novel, ending the addictive trilogy consisting of Delirium, Pandemonium, and now Requiem, by Lauren Oliver. It is expected to be published in March 2013 by HarperTeen and is on my reading list!
So far, Requiem's GoodReads rating is fantastic: 4.40 out of five stars! It already has 478 ratings and 317 reviews. Pretty good for a book that isn't even published yet.
Now, switching the spotlight to the lady behind it all...
The author, Lauren Oliver!
Her official site is laurenoliverbooks.com. She is the author of bestselling Before I Fall, which made it into the Gateway Award List for high school readers in Missouri. Other than her Delirium trilogy, she has written The Spindlers and Liesl & Po. Her blog can be visited at laurenoliverbooks. blogspot.com.
Now we know Lauren Oliver as a writer...but what about a reader? Her favorite books include: Matilda by Roald Dahl, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, andsome other good classics.
Anyway, that is the end of our first Future YA Books on Mondays Meme. Don't forget to add Requiem to your to-read list!
